The Weekender, June 19, 2026: So Let It Be Written
It's done.
Season 3 of The Chronicles of Oscar and Amber is written. All twenty episodes. Fifty-five thousand words. One complete story, from the first morning Oscar woke up to a new normal all the way through to — well. You'll find out.
Next up will be the process of turning the Oscar and Amber novel I've been writing since March and just finished into the Oscar and Amber video novel those of you who've joined Amber's Army will get to see when the episodes begin dropping on August 4.
I'll be honest with you: when I first got started with the idea of marrying video clips to a written story, I didn't know if I could do this. A novel-length serialized story, told in episodes, built around characters who aren't quite like anyone you've met before. It felt like a bet when I started it. It doesn't feel like a bet anymore. The old saying goes - if I'm not butchering it too badly - that if it happens once it's an accident, twice is a coincidence and three times it's enemy action.
Well, we're well into the enemy action stage, because I'm well ahead of schedule on production. And what we've got is a heck of a good story for you.
It's OK. You can get excited. I definitely am.
What's coming
As I said, Season 3 publishes August 4th. Between now and then, you're going to meet some people. We've already introduced Cara — if you missed it, here she is:
Also this week we had Keegan...
And this week, Erica had something to say about the five thousand of you who found your way here. She says it better than I would:
Follow Us On Socials!
We've got five accounts now; there's a new Oscar and Amber Facebook page.
That goes with the previously-existing...
...accounts.
Hey, follow all of them. Here and there we'll drop content on the socials that we won't have here at the site. You never know! Plus, we're very accessible on all of those accounts, so feel free to interact and/or drop us a line.
