The Weekender, June 12, 2026: Meet The Cast Of The Chronicles Of Oscar And Amber

The Weekender Jun 12, 2026

If you've been following the story, you know by now that The Chronicles of Oscar and Amber has one of the more interesting ensemble casts in fiction right now. And if you're new here — welcome, and buckle up.

We've been rolling out character introduction videos since launching the new site, and we're now about halfway through the full cast. Here's who's up so far:

Amber — The Factory Girl who started it all
Katie — The one who got out. Mostly.
Drew — Oscar's oldest friend and his lawyer
Erica — The oil heiress. It's complicated.
Caroline — Amber's little sister. Sort of.
Virgil Smith — The client who changed everything
Stella — She ran the show. Until she didn't.
Craig — Katie's situation. Also complicated.
Sasha — She knows everything about everybody
Harlan Voss — Old Texas money, old Texas rules
Michael Stafford — The CEO. Video just dropped today.

Coming up: Keegan drops Sunday. Ashley and Ted are on deck after that.

Season 3 episodes begin publishing in August. There's a lot of story between now and then — and we're going to give you plenty to read.

Start from the beginning | Meet the full cast

I'm doing all these character videos which go on each character's page for a couple of reasons - they're strategic. We'll see how smart I am.

All of my digital marketing research says that everything has to be video. Text and still images just don't catch anybody's eye. That's obviously one reason this story is presented as a video novel - everybody I'm talking to, and remember I'm a writer (O.D. Barr is a pseudonym; I've written a dozen novels under my real name and put them all on Amazon as ebooks and paperbacks), complains that they just can't sit still and read a long page of text anymore.

So if you want to market anything via Facebook or other digital ad platforms, you have to have video. Well, I don't want to give the actual story away to people without them even coming here for a visit, but I do want to show them enough to hook them in.

So let's just introduce the characters. And that's what we're doing with these videos, which are great site content as well as marketing material for the Oscar and Amber social pages at Instagram, YouTube, X and TikTok.

And we're keeping the site fresh with them during the long slog through Season 3's production.

A note on that: we're a little ahead of schedule there. I'm about three quarters of the way through writing the 20 episodes, and by the next installment of the Weekender that'll be done. The next stage is proofreading and editing the written version, plus deciding where the video-illustration beats will sit, and from that process will come my shot list for photography and my list of audio clips to go with the still photos.

Then stage three will be the production of those still photos, through live photography and composite imaging, and the recording of the audio clips that go with those still photos to make video clips.

Stage four is the production of the video clips, and when that's done to satisfaction they get inserted in their proper places in the episodes and those get scheduled for mass consumption.

Yes, mass consumption. That is the plan. Tell your friends.

August 4 is the drop day for Season 3, Episode 1. Very exciting stuff. Anyway, thanks for checking us out, and feel free to drop all the feedback you care to in the comments. Yes, you have to subscribe to the newsletter - we do require at least a free membership because that's how we weed out the spammers and trolls. But it doesn't cost anything, and you'll know instantly when all this kick-ass content drops.

That's going to come in quite handy in August when the train leaves the station!
