Well, on Thursday, Episode 20 of Season 3 made its entrance into the world, and that concluded our story - at least until we get started on Season 4.

I hope you guys enjoyed Season 3. Feedback is certainly appreciated.

Here are links to all the season's episodes, in the event you've missed some and need to catch up...

A lot goes into these episodes, especially as they've evolved from Season 1 to now. We got started with animated GIFs - to accommodate the limits Patreon imposed - as the base medium for the illustrations, and now we're all the way into opening each episode with a little movie and you might notice the increasing frequency of multi-shot video clips within the main episodes.

Not to mention background noise. I've started getting pretty good at adding that in post-production.

This thing, as I've said, is a workshop for other projects I'm building which aren't quite so... niche. It's also an outlet for a point of view which underlies the story which isn't so niche.

After all, you never see Oscar, and that's for a reason.

No, it's not to suggest Oscar represents the unseen regular guy, though there is an element of that - at least until his professional ship starts to come in.

Which, interestingly enough, happens because - at least in part - through Amber, he's able to make a real early adoption of AI into his business workflow and it gives him an advantage as a small consulting shop.

It's more that Oscar is an Everyman. You want to see Oscar, dear reader? Look in the mirror. He's you.

He's a middle-class, middle-aged Southern white male in the story, but Oscar could be almost anybody who's divorced or single in America and struggling with our current social culture. That's one thing those of you who've reached out about the story have said you appreciated.

It's something of an interesting challenge to hang on to that as we get into the writing of Season 4, because it really wasn't until the end of Season 3 that Oscar and Keegan sold Keegan's business app and the real money came in. Now Oscar has gone from an ordinary, regular guy to a top 1 percent guy, but he doesn't have the mindset of one. How does that work in the story? That's what I've got to figure out as I write Season 4.

But I'm going to take my time with that. Now that I've got Season 3 done, I'm going to power down a little on this project until after the first of the year to focus on some other rather labor-intensive items on the agenda. Though noodling on Season 4 will be part of how I spend my time.

And we'll continue with the Weekender blog posts once a week. They might be pre-Weekenders or post-Weekenders, depending on when I can get to them, but I'll keep the site updated with various things.

The videos are too much fun to let them fall away. Besides, Amber and the other girls are such great models that keeping them busy seems almost like a must.

Anyway, now that we've got three seasons down, which takes the overall story to the halfway point, I'd really like to get input from you folks. What do you like so far, what could you do without, how do we get more eyes on this project. Hit me up in the comments or at od_barr@yahoo.com!
